Laura Alice is a Geelong-based artist who creates inky paintings and street art that is both illustrative and whimsical with a soulful quality.
Her works are often both playful and serene, exploring a world of contemplative creatures and their human companions. She paints from the heart, finding her inspiration in the mystic philosophers, children’s storybooks and Melbourne street art.
She studied Creative Arts at Melbourne University, and since then has had many solo and group exhibitions in Australia and New Zealand, won awards, collaborated on projects with YWCA, Little Creatures Brewery, Open4, Diversitat, Geelong City Council, and co-founded the sucessful Geelong Illustrators collective.
Laura Alice is also an award-winning community-development artist, who, in collaboration with Bluebird Foundation, mentors diverse groups of young people and refugees in the region through therapeutic art sessions that empower them to create high-quality, authentic and engaging public outcomes. She won the 2017 Women in Community Social Justice and Gender Equality award for her work.
Finally, she also loves reading, writing poetry, caravan adventures, drinking coffee with her husband Jono and hanging out with her rad toddler Joa.
